Linkin Park — did we kill Chester?

Why Chester Bennington, the singer of Linkin Park committed a suicide is not clear yet.

It may have been him or it may just have been just us: our expectations.

What if our expectations killed him?

Linkin Park had had several albums before. But their most recent album received mixed reviews, especially from core magazines and reviewers. Chester Bennington (the singer) got pissed off several times.

“Bennington, in response to claims of selling out with the album, responded “I will punch you in your fucking mouth … You’re a fucking pussy.””

Eventually he seemed to accept the situation, though, saying:

“…I agree with ... I do appreciate our fans… I’m human and sometimes take things too personally. Most of our fans have been very positive lately. Some… not so much. Either way… there is a lot of passion on both sides and I am grateful to all of our fans. Corey is a good dude and I appreciate him too… Time to recalibrate my perspective. So I say to all of our fans… Thank you and I love you all. Peace, love and happiness.”[62]

We do not know what happened. But: this article is not about him. It is about our expectations.

Expectations

When you stick to something, you expect something and then what comes is not what you expected-it feels bad.

We get pissed off; we want what we deserve (=expect).

Getting rid of expectations

What if we could just simply accept people, things as they are?

Less fuss. Fewer debates. Less disappointment.

Peace, love and happiness.

Give it a try.
